Sunday 6th November 2022

In contrast to the nice calm settled weather at Torre last evening we woke up to strong winds, driving rain and almost zero visibility this morning. Here's the "view" from the side door of our van.

After breakfast we set off eastwards descending from the high plateau.

The road here is spectacular but well engineered.

There were rainbows for most of the way.

Eventually we arrived back on comparatively lower ground crossing this bridge with a cross.

We stopped for the day at the aire at Benquenca. We are parked next to a small river. Here's the view from the side door of our van.

Just the other side of the river is this cafe which appeared to be open but didn't seem to have any customers this Sunday lunchtime

A load of old geysers turned up in their pick up trucks, bringing lots of food, wine and beer. They lit a fire and cooked a meal for the lot of them - what you might describe as a rip roaring lunch! Afterwards they all drove off! I would be very wary about being on the road on a Sunday afternoon round here.

There is a Netherlands registered van here. Ann talked to one of its occupants.

There is also this Netherlands registered car seen here with its occupant cooking her tea on a camping stove. Later on a large British registered van arrived.

Today we travelled 35 miles (56 kilometres). We are at: N40.2296 W7.2217
