Wednesday 12th October 2022

It was overcast and misty this morning and after servicing the van we set off south. We stopped to buy some odd items at a supermarket before stopping at the hilltop town of Duras where I remember camping on the way to Morocco in the 1970s. We walked up towards town past the Chateau. By this time the mist and cloud had cleared and it was bright and sunny for the rest of the day.

A tunnel leads through the chateau wall to give access to the town.

Here's the town square.

There's a covered shopping area.

You can pay to go inside the Chateau but we gave it a miss.

Here's a view of the Chateau from the campsite (which is closed at this time of the year).

We moved on south from Duras and stopped for the day at the Aire de Camping Car at Caumont Sur Garonne. The Aire is next to a canal. Here's the view from the side door of our van.

The canal is frequented by various kinds of boats.

This boat is moored close to our parking place.

This is a really beautiful place.

When the breeze blows the leaves from the plane trees fall like great orange snow flakes and float down the canal.

Unsurprisingly there are quite a few vans here this afternoon but there's room for plenty more.

Today we travelled 66 miles (106 kilometres). We are at: N44.4419 E0.1781
