Thursday 15th October

There was a nice sunrise at Morella this morning.

As the sun got higher more and more of the town was lit up.

We made the fairly short journey south west to the remote hill top town of Cantavieja where we had intended to stay for the night but the available parking places didn't take our fancy so we moved on.

We continued south west through some very remote country and over several high passes - the highest was 1700 metres.

We came through some amazing landscapes. The interior of Spain is very varied and I think not very well known to British people who seem to concentrate more on the coasts when they come here. Eventually we reached the city of Teruel where we stopped briefly to fill our LPG cylinders and buy bread and wine.

We had made a much longer journey today than we had originally intended - 113 miles (182 kilometres) - when we stopped for the night at the town of Torrebaja, south west of Terual. We had crossed back into Aragon from Valenciana.

Having said that British visitors to Spain don't venture into the interior much it is interesting to observe that all three vans here at the Aire in Torrebaja are (sort of) British. The people from the van on the left are from Warwickshire and the people of the enormous North American van on the right are from the Isle of Man.
