The day dawned very misty at Coubon, the sun trying to break through and then fading away.
Here's another view of the infant Loire from our overnight parking place.
We set off south. The weather got worse and worse with steady rain interspersed by torrential downpours. We stopped for a cup of tea in this fine gorge - pity we couldn't see more of it.
Given the weather was so bad we continued south to the ex mining town of Ales and parked by the river for the night.
There are a few other vans in the aire here tonight. We travelled 92 miles (148 kilometres) today.
