It was very cold in the night at Puget Theniers but while we were getting up this morning about 500 sheep turned up in the car park where we were staying and were herded onto an enormous multi-decked truck. Maybe lamb is popular at Christmas round here?

Having seen the sheep off in their truck we left our overnight stop and travelled up the Vesubie Gorges.

Then over the Col de Turini 1600 metres high which is one of the stages on the Monte Carlo Rally. There wasn't any snow on the road today.

We're stopped for the night at Sospel - just north of Menton and very close to the Italien border. There is an interesting old bridge over the river in the town centre.

Sospel Cathedral is very ornate both outside........

..........and inside.

We are parked for the night by the town football pitches and we've just been watching a kiddies match under flood lights!
