A very cold night at Sospel. Having warmed up and had breakfast we headed down to the coast at Menton. Tried to find a fuel station to fill up with  diesel before heading over the border where it is more expensive but failed to find any which we could access either due to long tailbacks or fuel stations too small to easily bring in the van. Finally in desperation took the A10 autostrada east and over the border into Italy. Exited the autostrada at Loano and were charged 16 Euros for the privilege! Tried to find an aire listed in Camperstop Europe but when we finally found it it turned out to be a dingy little yard charging 15 Euros a night. Turned up our nose at this and parked in the very nice car park over the road for free - see above to appreciate its niceness! Such is the Riviera! Be warned and stay clear!
