Today we left Brugge and headed east just over the border from Belgium into Netherlands and stopped for the day at the town of Hulst. It was raining and this is generally a very watery place. This is the view one way from our parking place....

......and this is the view in the other direction.

Eventually it stopped raining and we took a walk around town. These very strange quasi- religious animal representations were everywhere.

We entered the town centre through this arch.

This is the town hall.

Hulst is a small town which is dominated by this absolutely enormous church.

Outside the church are further strange representations of an animal? and birds?

There are high earth banks surrounding the town centre from which we got this commanding view. Are the banks flood defences or fortifications?

There is water surrounding the banks - a moat perhaps?

The designated free campervan parking area is popular - our van is second from the left.

Today we traveled 45 miles (72 kilometres). We are at N51.27735 E4.04942
