Sunday 4th December 2016

We left home about mid day and after filling up with diesel and autogas we set off towards Poole stopping off at this rest area on the A35 in Dorset for a cup of tea.

We arrived at Poole ferry terminal at about 4 p.m. as it was getting dark. The ferry terminal is just over the river from Poole town centre but the local bridge is closed for repairs so we had quite a long walk into town over the new Twin Sails Bridge.

There are some interesting old buildings in Poole town centre.

We found a Thai restaurant and went for a meal. We had a mixed starter to share. Then Ann had a red curry and I had crisp soft shell crabs! Never had them before - very nice. As you can see we left empty plates.

We wandered back to our van at the ferry terminal. We are booked onto the 8.30 ferry tomorrow morning heading for Cherbourg in Normandy.

Today we travelled 108 miles (174 kilometres). We are at N50.70999 W1.99599
