This morning we visited a hypermarket in Cognac and bought some screws and bolts to replace ones which had dropped off a bike and the van. We made the shortish journey south east to the small town of Nersac just south west of Angouleme and parked at the aire de camping cars. There was a French van there when we arrived.

The aire is just next to the Mairie (Town Hall)  - pictured here.

We got our bikes out and took a ride around town. Note my attire - it was 16C this afternoon.

Ann collected some fallen apples and later made chicken in apple sauce followed by stewed apples for pudding. Very nice indeed. As regular followers of this blog (if there are indeed any) will know Ann insists that I do no cooking in our camper van as she thinks that the trivial tasks I perform such as driving, emptying the toilet etc render me ineligible to do any cooking which I think is a shame as I like cooking and do most of it when we are at our other house in Widecombe.

The church in Nersac looks quite unusual. There are some other interesting old buildings in the town.

The French van which had been at the aire previously left and to our absolute amazement a British van turned up. This was the first foreign van we had seen since we arrived in France. I said hello but didn't get much response - people are entitled to their privacy.

The aire here is very unusual in that not only is staying here free but there is also free electricity.

This evening there was a nice sunset.

Today we traveled 28 miles (48 kilometres). Our GPS coordinates here are N46.62603 E0.04991
