Today we came further south down the west coast of the Cherbourg peninsula to the town of Granville. The Old Town is situated high on a promontory with steep cliffs on three sides making it an ideal defensive situation.

We visited the nearby church of Notre Dame.

The interior was quite imposing but nothing special.

Some of the streets in the Old Town are quite interesting.

This drawbridge in the town walls was one of the more interesting features we saw.

We went for lunch at Restaurant Du Port. Ann had cheese omelette and chips which unfortunately made her poorly. I had various shellfish cooked in garlic, herbs and butter which were absolutely delicious. There are aspects of eating out which can be problematic!

We have a bit of a view of the port from where we are parked at the town's Aire de Camping Cars. It costs 9.10 euros for 24 hours to park here and all other parking places in town seem to ban campervans between 21.00 and 7.00 hours!

We traveled 57 miles (92 kilometres) today. We are at N48.83481 W1.60977
