This morning we visited the Font de Gaume Cave which is only a couple of kilometres from Les Eyzies where we had stayed overnight. The entrance to the cave lies at the foot of this impressive limestone cliff.

Photography is not allowed in the cave. There are many prehistoric representations of animals on the walls of the cave. Here a bison.

Here some deer or perhaps goats. It was fantastic to go inside a real cave and see real paintings and engravings made by prehistoric people.

Here are the rest of the people who were shown round the cave with us just after we came out at the end of the tour. The man with his hand in the air is the guide form the Centre des Monuments Nationaux who are tasked with looking after the cave,

It was quite overcast today. We traveled south and stopped briefly near the City of Cahors to buy some provisions. We them went west down the valley of the River Lot to the village of Albas where we are parked for the night next to a weir in the river. During our journey today we crossed from Aquitaine into Midi Pyrenees.

We traveled 73 miles (118 kilometres) today. We are at N44.47419 E1.23305
