This morning we took a stroll into Barfleur passing this interesting building  along the way.

We visited the church. This old carving depicting Mary holding the dead Jesus in her arms is apparently known as a Pieta: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet%C3%A0

The alter is quite ornate.

Here's a view of the church from outside.

The fishing harbour in Barfleur does not appear to be thriving.

With the EU Parliamentary Election coming up the French versions of Nigel Farage appear to be out and about spreading their poison. Here's one of their posters.

Nearby however was an election poster conveying a message of hope from the French Communist Party.

We visited the lifeboat station.

There is a memorial here to the fishing persons from Barfleur who have died at sea,

The fish harbour is still more or less functioning.

Nearby is a very very nice looking fish restaurant.

We returned to our van where we saw these feral cats on the sea defences. We then serviced our van at Camping Municipal Barfleur at a cost of 4 Euros.

We moved south a short way to this really nice parking place by the sea at Jonville. We got our bikes out.

We have great sea views from here.

We went for a ride along the long distance cycle path which runs from Mont St Michel to Cherbourg.

Having returned from the cycle ride we went for a walk on the beach. Are these frames for cultivating shellfish?

Apparently there are still explosives from World War Two around here!

As the day drew on the tide came in.

The waves are now quite close to our parking place.

Today we travelled 9 miles (14 kilometres). We are at N49.61418 W1.23001
