Thursday 12th May

This morning we drove through the northern portion of the Biebrza National Park, crossing the Augustow Canal pictured here.

From Biebrza NP we came south east to a forest just outside of the town of Krynki near to the Poland-Belarus border. There was a "Beware of Lynxes" sign on the road opposite the the car park we stopped in.

Actually the place we stayed was quite a lot more than a car park. It had toilets, fresh water taps, electricity connection points, exercise apparatus etc. It was the nearest thing to a French Aire des Camping Cars that we have ever come across in Poland.

Ann hung the washing out on one of the exercise machines.

Nearby was some kind of educational facility with amongst other things a number of caged owls which I felt very sorry for and didn't photograph. Thee was however this nice frog sculpture.

The trees in this forest are enormously tall.

Today we traveled 62 miles (100 kilometres).
