Tuesday 3rd May

This morning bought some groceries before leaving Aschersleben. Travelled east to Kothen where we stopped briefly to fill up with diesel. Our journey was over flat land with enormous fields of rapeseed interspersed with wind generators.

We crossed the river Elbe and stopped on the north bank at Coswig.

We are staying at a very posh stellplatz - you could call it a campsite at a push - they have cabins you can stay in as well as a bar, restaurant, kids play area etc. All this comes at a price - 12 euros a night.

There is a schloss just up the river.

Many large boats go by on the Elbe. Some are cruise boats like this. Others carry goods. Some fly the flag of the Czech Republic where the Elbe flows into Germany from.

Here's the view from our lounge! To night we watched Athletico Madrid beat Bayern Munich in the semi final of the UEFA Champions League on German TV. I couldn't understand what the commentator was saying at the end of the match but he sounded very upset.

Today we travelled 47 miles (76 kilometres).
