Saturday 30th April

After emptying waste tanks and filling with fresh water at the stellplatz we visited the shopping centre in Raesfeld and bought groceries. In Germany, almost uniquely in western and central europe, many shops do not accept Visa and Mastercard so you have to check before shopping unless you want to incur heafty currency conversion charges at cash machines. We moved on east passing to the north of the former industrial area of the Ruhr Valley and stopped at the above pictured parking place near the village of Sande close to the city of Paderborn.

As the name of the village suggests this area seems to be about the extraction of sand and this lake next to our parking place is the result of that process.

We walked along the lake shore - saw this on a tree.

The lake at Sande is used extensively for watersports.

Today we travelled 93 miles (150 kilometres).
