Travelling east from Paderborn we went through a very pleasant wooded area with quite a few hills - something we hadn't seen since leaving Britain.

We stopped off in the city of Gottingen to visit my cousin Mary Creutzfeldt (my adopted mother's brother's wife's sister's daughter). Mary has a really nice big house close to the world famous university.

Mary took us for a walk into the city centre. This is the interior of the old town hall.

Apparently you have to kiss this statue before you get your PhD!

From Gottingen we moved on a short distance east to the town of Duderstadt where we parked for the night.

We travelled 106 miles (171 kilometres) today.
