Tuesday 10th June 2025

Today we travelled north west stopping at the Aire at Mimetiz to service the van. We then stopped for the day at the car and coach park of the museum which used to be a factory making Basque berets. It is very close to the town of Balmeseda just south of the city of Bilbao.

Our parking place is next to a river.

It was very hot this afternoon.

Nearby is this dilapidated old building.

We got our chairs out and sheltered from the sun under a cherry tree.

The grassy area between the parking lot and the river is very popular with sunbathers this afternoon.

The museum is closed at present.

Upstream from our parking place there is a small weir.

 We did our best to keep cool during the heat of the afternoon. 31C for a few hours.

Later on clouds started to gather.

There was a pretty pathetic attempt at a thunderstorm and a bit of rain.
