Saturday 7th June 2025

We did a supermarket shop before leaving Sabinanigo remembering that shops are closed round here on Sundays. We travelled west, some of the time through "bad lands" as seen here.

We stopped for the day at the Aire at Lumbier. We had previously stayed here on 26th October 2021, see: 26.10.21

We got our new chairs out. We have a small walnut tree to sit under.

The Aire is filling up fast. From what I have read on the Park4Night App the local police are trying to stop wild camping in this area so authorised motorhome/campervan spaces are at a premium.

I walked the short distance into the town centre. Every shop is closed on Saturday afternoon. The bar however is open.

There are some interesting old buildings.

This is the main square.

It takes some getting used to this idea that everything closes for four or five hours in the afternoon.

I remember this mural from when we visited in 2021.

From the town centre you get glimpses of the surrounding country side. (As you will see from a number of these pics my camera is definitely on the way out - apologies).

Downhill from the Aire there is a small river.

Also a nice green public space with benches.

The Aire is full and about to overflow this evening!

Today we travelled 66 miles (106 kilometres). We are at: N42.6543 W1.3037

It should be exciting in the pub tonight, if you can find a stop near a bar!

Is 8th June important for piss ups in Spain?

I've got it! Spain v Portugal, Nations League Final at 21.00. We can watch it in the van on Spanish TV if there's any reception here.

Yes, we've got reception in the van and yes the match is live on Spanish TV at 21.00. The only problem is we old people will probably be asleep by then!
