The museum was definitely open this morning as a couple of coachloads turned up to visit. We travelled south west stopping on this pass briefly.
To photograph this impressive escarpment - sorry about the power lines in the foreground.
We stopped for the day at the Aire at Poblacion where we had previously stayed on 21st October 2022. The Aire is next to a large reservoir. Here's the view from the side door of our van. If you're interested in what we posted when we were here in 2022 see: 21.10.22
The local power/telecoms cables are in a bit of a state!
There's a family of ducks in the reservoir just down from our parking place.
There was a German registered van on the Aire when we arrived. Later on a French and another German one came to join us.
While Ann was having a sleep I took a walk and followed this sign.
I passed these flowers along the way.
And these.
A lot of cattle are pastured around the reservoir.
The local farmers aren't too good at tidying up after themselves!
I followed the sign pointing to the left.
There is an interpretive sign showing all the birds frequenting this habitat.
The habitat in question is an artificially created lagoon with a water level slightly higher than that of the reservoir when it is full.
There are reed beds.
And there are water lilies.
It's a very attractive place.
Here's the bird viewing hide.
I viewed these from inside the hide - with 90x magnification!
This fish pass connects the reservoir to the lagoon. There was a half metre long fish in the pass when I arrived but it cleared off into the lagoon before I could photograph it.
This is the dam which was built to form the lagoon (on the right) and keep its level slightly higher than the reservoir ( on the left).
As well as cattle there are horses pastured around here.
It 's been much cooler today. About 25C most of the time. There are a few free range dogs around.
Today we travelled 54 miles (87 kilometres). We are at: N43.0336 W3.9529
