Sunday 8th June 2025

At about 7.00 this morning we were woken by the sound of literally thousands of sheep and goats, many with bells, being herded past our parking place in Lumbier. Incredible. After taking on diesel at the bargain price of £1.07 a litre we made a shortish journey north west passing the city of Pamplona and stopped for the day at the Aire at Irurtzun where we had previously stayed on 27th October 2021. If you're interested in what we posted then please see: 27.10.21

The Aire is close to some beautiful countryside.

There is a cycle track which runs past the Aire. Ann took a turn along it on her mobility scooter but unfortunately didn't take the camera with her.

The service area at the Aire has pressure washers for cleaning mountain bikes.

There was a massive birthday party going on under the trees this afternoon.

The Aire is in Cemetery Road. Ann took a walk to the Cemetery.

Ann likes cemetery visits!

She reckons the further south you go in Europe the "better" the cemeteries get!

There is some public art at the Aire.

Later on we watched Portugal play Spain on Spanish TV in the final of the Nations League. It was 2 all after extra time followed by a penalty shootout which Portugal won 5-3.

Today we travelled 40 miles (64 kilometres). We are at: N42.9208 W1.8252
