On Wednesday 3rd June we visited another old friend of mine, Annette Clarke. Annette and her partner Andy, yet another old friend of mine, live at Shrewsbury. Unfortunately Andy couldn't meet up with us. Andy and Annette seem quite interested in camper vans and she had a good look round ours. Great to see you again Annette and sorry to have missed you Andy.

On Annette's recommendation we moved on to nearby Attingham Park (National Trust).

The interior of the house is just as grand as the exterior.

Here's the dining room.

This is the kitchen complete with appropriately dressed cooks.

The grounds are imposing.

There are Fallow Deer in the park.

A tributary of the River Severn flows through the park.

The Park has a marvellous walled kitchen garden.

By the time we'd finished at Attingham Park we were quite exhausted but we managed to move on over the border into Wales and stopped for the night in the town car park in Llanfyllin, Powys.

It was a really beautiful warm evening with excellent light on the hills as the sun got low.
