On Monday 8th June we crossed from Wales into England and stopped briefly at Manley Village Hall in Cheshire. This is my home village. The playing field was donated to the village by my adopted grandparents in memory of my aunt Hillary who took her own life at a young age.

The ashes of several of my family members were scattered here.

From Manley we moved on to Sandbach to see the 9th Century Saxon crosses in the town centre. Sandbach is not a camper van friendly town with height barriers on both its long stay car parks. We managed to park in the Waitrose car park.

We then set off up north by way of the M6 and then branched off into the Forest of Bowland in north Lancashire. We stopped for the night in the village car park at Dunsop Bridge. As it was pouring with rain we watched some TV.
