Wednesday 10th June was a very active day by our standards. We walked down from Bowlees to the River Tees at Low Force pictured here.

We crossed the Tees by this suspension bridge.

We walked upstream through Juniper thickets.

Eventually we got to High Force.

Here's a view looking down from the top of the waterfall.

We then walked back to Bowlees - a round trip of about 4 miles.

We moved on to Cow Green Reservoir higher up the Tees. The place was a hive of activity as a film for ITV was being made. A crime drama apparently.

We walked the 3 mile round trip to Cauldron Snout where the River Tees cascades down a narrow steep gorge.

You can see the downstream side of the reservoir dam above Cauldron Snout.

Here's a view as we walked back along the reservoir side. These roads are closed to the public with locked gates etc.

Two military aircraft flew low over us as we were walking back.

Activity at the filming site seemed to subside during the evening but if you looked the other way there was only wild country. This is the view through our windscreen that evening.
