After leaving Stratford on Tuesday 2nd June we visited my friend Alison Davey in Birmingham. Great to see you again after so long Ali and many thanks for your hospitality.

After leaving Birmingham we parked for the night at Highgate Common east of Bridgnorth. We had a walk around this very nice wild area of heathland. We found this pool close to our parking place.

Here's the view from our parking place. The Common is managed by Shropshire Wildlife Trust and is apparently the home of several species of rare insects. Judging by the number of dogs being "walked" here I'm surprised that there is much wildlife surviving!
