Thursday 11th June dawned still and beautiful. There was hardly a ripple on the reservoir.

It seemed like filming had stopped for now - nearly all the cars had gone away leaving only the posh air conditioned mobile residence blocks.

We set off north again and before too long reached the Northumbrian town of Hexham. We visited the supermarket and then Ann visited the Abbey while I did some blogging.

Ann took numerous photos at Hexham Abbey.

Here's one she took inside.

We moved on north to Kielder Forest - an enormous area of commercial coniferous forestry with an almost as enormous reservoir in the middle.

Kielder Forest is slightly unfriendly territory with quite a few "no overnight parking" signs around but we were able to find this nice glade for the night which was unrestricted.

We took a walk in the woods and got up quite high. There were some good views but manly just conifers. We watched Germany v. Norway play in the Womens World Cup. Ended 1-1.
