Sunday 14th October 2018

It was raining this morning in Widecombe but the strong winds of the last two days had calmed down. Claud our builder came round as promised to pick up a key to our house. He is starting work tomorrow to replace water damaged flooring. We left home about 10.30 stopping briefly to take on diesel and lpg. We travelled east. As we approached Poole we stopped for some coffee and soup at a farm cafe.

Nice place and very popular at Sunday lunchtime.

After leaving the cafe we had a drive around the Isle of Purbeck. There was no room in the car park at Corfe Castle so we gave it a miss. We had some great views along the way as it had almost stopped raining.

We went through the Army Firing Range which wasn't firing today. We had a cup of tea at this great viewpoint.

We are parked for the night at the Ferry Terminal at Poole. At the time of posting (18.00) there are two other vans queued to go to Cherbourg in the morning and one waiting to go to the Channel Islands

Today we travelled 136 miles (219 kilometres) We are at N50.71000 W1.99589
