After sleeping for about 14 hours I felt a bit better and was up for the sunrise at El Rocio this morning - here's the view from our parking place - mind you sunrise isn't very early this far west on Spanish time - this was taken about 8.30.

El Rocio borders on the Donana National Park - we took a short drive into the park.

Ann visited this strange empty mansion in the park,

We saw numerous "beware of the lynx" signs along the way but the nearest we got seeing one was this stuffed head that Ann photographed in the mansion.

We returned to the same parking place as we had occupied last night. I forgot to mention that yesterday we had witnessed a political demonstration here which appeared to be against commercial exploitation of this area. There are plenty of slogans on walls around here - "Donana is not for sale"!

By this time I was feeling a bit better and I took a walk around El Rocio. Most of the roads in town are made of sand and there are several really huge squares.

This is the kind of nonsense we have to put up with! Do they think we are from another planet?

There was a fantastic sunset seen from our parking place.

After it got dark this evening Ann took this marvelous view of  El Rocio church from across the lake from just near to where we are parked.

To today we went 14 miles (23 kilometres) and returned to where we had started from.
