Sunday 8th January 2017

Today we traveled north to the city of Seville entering over this bridge across the Guadalquivir.

We parked at the city aire which is quite close to the centre and consequently costs 12 euros a night plus 3 euros for electricity.

We took a walk over and along the river towards the centre. There were some budgies around.

There are lots of oranges growing in the city centre.

Walking along the riverbank we came across this fine old tower.

The river is quite wide here and there are numerous pleasure boats going up and down.

We walked past the bull ring.

The cathedral converted from the old Moorish mosque looks quite impressive. There was however a long queue to get in and no indication as to what it would cost.

The mosque's minaret has been retained and converted into the cathedral spire.

Nearby is the Moorish Alcazar fortress. We were going to go in until I went into the ticket office and was confronted by airport type security checks before even finding out how much it would cost to visit! I retreated out as quickly as I could! I think Islamic State have got us behaving in exactly the way they want us to!

We returned from the city centre and crossed back over the river to the aire.

Today we traveled 70 miles (113 kilometres). We are at N37.36211 W5.99465

Hi once again. Working backwards . Just seen your fine old tower in Seville ( beautiful city) That's near a cafe where Jane tasted her first Sangria- happy days. Also the 'budgie' looks like a Monk Parakeet .

Hi Tony,

I'm not really up on parrots and their ilk! Monk Parakeet sounds good.

Roger.
