I know that I have touched on the indelicate subject of sewage dumping recently in this blog however I am compelled to return to it today! This morning at Alhama, just as we were getting up, two Spanish vanners who had been parked overnight uphill from us and just next to the service point started wandering downhill towards us with their toilet cassette. We assumed that they were looking for the service point and would soon find it. However to our absolute horror they proceeded to empty their toilet down a storm drain!

They then started interfering with what is probably part of the town's fresh water supply in an attempt to wash out their loo.

Worse followed - their mates from the next door van followed them down with their sewage container intent on emptying it down the same storm drain. Ann had had enough. She donned her onesie and down jacket, jumped out of our van, stopped them emptying it inappropriately and directed them to the service point just next to where they were parked.

Here's the back of their van. The service point is about 5 metres behind it.

We left Alhama about 10.00 and as there was no sign of movement in Sophie and Jered's van we missed the chance to say goodbye to them.

From Alhama we traveled north passing through some nice scenery. We then went west along the A92 past Antiquera and then on west on more minor roads.

After buying groceries en route we stopped for the day at the town of Olvera which is about 50 kilometres north of Ronda. The town is topped by a castle and church.

The aire here has room for 4 vans and costs 7 euros a night which includes electricity. We didn't fancy it one bit as there was sewage piled high around the service point and anyway it was very pokey and almost full. We parked in the nearby car park which purports to ban all parking between 20.00 and 8.00 on pain of being towed away! We got out our bikes and set off down the adjoining Via Verde - a disused railway track converted into a cycle path.

There are great views from the cycle track.

We went through a few tunnels.

We saw this massive agave plant by the cycle track - the Mexicans use the fermented juice of this plant to make tequila.

It was harder work coming back as most of the outward journey had been downhill.

There's a nice view in all directions from our parking place including this flowering bush.

Anyway it's after 20.00 now so we're just sitting in our van waiting to be towed away!

Today we traveled 92 miles (148 kilometres). We are at N36.94155 W5.25156
