Sunday 5th June 2022

Early this morning there was a tremendous thunderstorm at Neustadt accompanied by very very heavy rain. When we tried to turn our boiler on to heat the water it failed to work showing a red fault light on the controls. Today we travelled north through the Black Forest. It rained off and on all day. Here's a typical Black Forest view.

Most of the trees in the Black Forest are conifers such as these. They did look quite black on a day like this.

After stopping to service the van at an aire in Freudenstadt we stopped for the day at a large car park in the village of Kniebis. These lupins are growing next to our parking place.

There are some other nice flowers around.

There is a (closed) café here with some meteorological instruments on the wall outside.

There is another van here this evening. Our boiler still refuses to fire up. We need to boil a kettle for hot water for person or dish washing.

Today we travelled 81 miles (130 kilometres). We are at: N48.4736 E8.2994
