Wednesday 1st June 2022

The weather had cleared up by this morning. We travelled west passing a large lake called the Schliersee.

We stopped for a cup of tea along the way next to this sign. I know what a Biergarten is. I had to look Krapfenhutte up - it means Donut Hut!

We also stopped along the way to service the van, buy a loaf of bread and take on diesel before stopping for the day at the town of Peiting. The town kindly provides free dedicated parking for motorhomes and campervans.

Ann did some clothes washing. I took a walk the very short distance into town. This hotel looks quite posh.

Here's the church.

Quite a few people were eating out. I don't know the purpose of the high pole seen here to the left of the eatery. You see loads of these poles round here. Any ideas?

I managed to find a cash machine which would sell me a few euros without adding on any commission!

Here's the war memorial. The panels to the left and right bear the names of the townspeople lost in the 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 wars respectively. Seems like Hitler managed to outdo Kaiser Bill in terms of getting Peiting's young men needlessly slaughtered!

Today we travelled 66 miles (106 kilometres). We are at: N47.7933 E10.9227
