Another van shared our parking place at Lochgilphead last night.

After breakfast we made a brief detour off our route to a boatyard where we found a tap to fill our fresh water tank.

Along the A83 we stopped off to visit Crarae Garden (National Trust for Scotland). There were no staff anywhere. There was a sign asking non members to put the entrance fee in an honesty box.

There are the remains of a 5000 year old burial chamber in the garden.

The garden, which was started in 1912, has an amazing variety of exotic shrubs and trees. There is a gorge with a burn running down it as a centrepiece.

We really enjoyed our visit however we gained the impression that National Trust for Scotland has fallen on hard times.

We stopped briefly for a cup of tea just past Inverary.

We stopped for the day at Tarbet on Loch Lomond. Here's a view from our van.

The clouds parted from time to time to reveal the peak of Ben Lomond (974 metres).

There are quite a few vans here at Tarbet Pier. There is a service point for fresh water and toilet waste disposal provided by Trossachs National Park. We put £5 in the donation box.

You can take boat trips from Tarbet Pier.

Today we travelled 61 miles (98 kilometres). We are at: N56.20257 W4.70958
