Sunday 6th May 2018

This morning we took a walk through the old mine workings over the road from our overnight stop.

It's a strange landscape with some rather strange plants.

There is some open water with numerous tadpoles swimming around.

We saw these beech trees newly in leaf.

We moved on from the old mine workings and back toward the forest.

We completed a circular walk back to our parking place through the forest.

We set off north, passing through Bristol and crossing the Severn Estuary to Chepstow.

We stopped at the village of Trellech to try another Britstop pub but the car park was packed so we gave it a miss. Ann visited the prehistoric standing stones nearby.

Here are the stones.

Tonight we are staying in a lay by off the A465 near the village of Llangua.

Today we travelled 76 miles (122 kilometres). We are at N51.92232 W2.89482
