Friday 22nd April 2022

We were up early this morning to catch our boat. Here's a view of it as we were waiting to be boarded.

The crossing to Cherbourg was fairly uneventful. Unfortunately the motion of the ship disagreed with Ann so she didn't feel too well.

I went up on deck for a while where it was very windy.

After arriving in Cherbourg the French Police stamped our passports and we were on our way. No checks of Covid vaccination certificates or whether we were bringing in any meat or dairy products. We stopped briefly in Cherbourg to buy a few items and then travelled west to the Nez of Jobourg where we stopped for the day. Here's the view from the side door of our van. It's been misty and very windy. You can just see the lighthouse.

We took a walk to the very end of the Nez. There were some great views.

.
There is a restaurant here. Set menu 29 euros.

Here's a telephoto view back from the restaurant to our parking place.

There are lots of flowers around.

We didn't walk very far as it was very windy and Ann hadn't brought her stick.

We passed these cows on the way back to the van. This evening we had roast vegetables for our tea. I don't often comment on what we eat in the van but we do seem to be having a lot of vegetables at present.

Today we travelled 21 miles (34 kilometres) excluding the distance we travelled on the ferry from Poole to Cherbourg. We are at: N49.6778 W1.9385
