Thursday 1st November 2018

There was lots of rain overnight at Stezzano. We serviced the van and set off east soon crossing this surging river.

Just further on I think that the river may have broken its banks as we were diverted through very narrow village streets.

Approaching the city of Brescia our sat nav took us onto the autostrada ( we have set it to avoid toll roads but not motorways).

We found a place to park in the centre of Brescia and walked the short distance to visit the roman ruins.

Quite impressive.

We took a walk around Brescia city centre.

It was very quiet. Maybe everyone else was having lunch.

We moved on east and parked for the day at the Aire at Desenzano Del Garda. Here's the view out of the side of our van. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy.

We are parked next to this interesting old Hymer van. You can see why motorhomes/campervans were originally called motorcaravans.

We went for a walk along the "beach". What were these horses doing there?

There were great views across the lake.

Far away snowy mountains were visible.

A massive tree once grew by the lakeside here.

Most of the lakeside round here is very built up but there are some wilder bits. Later on we went out for a meal at the restaurant adjoining the aire. I ordered far too much food and now feel seriously overfed!

Today we travelled 65 miles (105 kilometres).  We are at N45.48726 E10.52158
