Wednesday 22nd July 2026

It was still raining this morning and water was dripping from parts of the van's ceiling near the front skylight. We travelled west to Leknes and did the shops - I bought a pair of trousers. We then went for a drive around the local area with nice views like the above.

You don't need to go far to find solitude round here.

We went through the village of Sennesvik and turned right towards a mountain pass. Note the fish farm not far off shore here.

We stopped for the day at a small parking area right at the top of the pass.

There are tremendous views for here. This is to the south. Sorry about the poor quality of the telephoto on my smartphone - I must buy a decent camera someday soon!

Here's the view to the north.

There was a cruise ship visiting Leknes. It's the AIDAluna and has a capacity of 2500 passengers!

This tourbus load turned up - very likely an excusion from the cruise ship.

A good spot for taking photos.

This parking area is designated "Daytime Parking Only" on the park4night app - seemingly because some vanners were woken up in the middle of the night by passing cars honking their horns! Let's see how we fair tonight?

Today we travelled 31 miles (50 kilometres). We are at: N68.11181 E13.67216
