Sunday 5th July 2026

This morning Helen showed us how she makes cheese.

She uses no rennet and adds salt and a local herb.

A local artist turned up with a picture Ruth is buying from him.

Here's the picture. Ruth said it reminded her of Helen's cowshed.

The picture was wrapped up in bubblewrap to go Ruth's place near Oslo.

We said our goodbyes and left Helen and Hans Kristian's farm. Thank you both for your kind hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay. We travelled north west stopping to service the van at a large caravan and motorhome dealer and stopping for a cup of tea and a biscuit at a rest area next to this distinctive local fence.

We stopped again to wonder at this enormous Elg/Moose stature at a rest area. We tried a couple of potentail overnight stop places but decided neither was suitable.

We travelled on and finally stopped for the day in a beautiful forest glade just south of the village of Atna. Here's the view from our sliding door. We can hear the river down the slope from our parking place.

If you scan the QR code on this notice you can buy a local fishing licence online.

We had the place to ourselves.

We found a nice level parking place.

You can just see the river downhill from us. Before going to bed I set my alarm for 1.45 am!

Today we travelled 110 miles (177 kilometres). We are at: N61.71081 E10.85709
