Here we are in Winchester

After leaving home this morning we travelled down the A303 to Winchester and parked our van for the night in the City's long stay parking which is right next to the Winchester Hotel which has excellent free wifi - hence this post.

We intended to visit Winchester Cathedral but they wanted £5.00 each to go in if you were pensioners like us. £7.50 for adults! Ann claimed to be wanting to "sit down" so they let her in for free. I had no such luck.

There is lots of good public art in Winchester. Ann reckons this guy on a horse with no clothes on looks like her mate Graham from DCC!

Winchester City centre also does a good line in flowering shrubs.

And here I am in the Cathedral Cloisters.

Tomorrow we're off to Ann's daughter's place in Kent.

Just catching up on your blog. I think(?!) it's a compliment that I look like the man in the Elizabeth Frink statue in Winchester (although I'm not sure about the no clothes bit!). Elizabeth Frink has made some brilliant public art - there's a good sculpture in Dorchester. Anyway, glad you are enjoying your travels!

I'm sure Ann was being complimentary!
