Today we travelled north. The motorway took us past the docks in Hamburg and under the River Elb in a tunnel.

After stopping to service the van and do a supermarket shop we stopped for the day on the shore of the Einfelder See. Here's the view from the front of our van.

This is a magic parking place. Just needed a bit of ramping at the front to get level.

It was a beautiful day - about 27C in the afternoon.

This "shrine" is just next to our van.

Numerous geese came out of the lake to visit us.

This goose has attitude!

We went for a ride/walk along the lakeside.

We passed this mural painted on a toilet block.

The area is very popular with picknickers.....

....and bathers.

There are quite a few stone statues along the lake shore.

I like this half submerged statue.

Ann went to investigate this one which she thought looked like an elephant lying down!?

On the way back to the van Ann got into conversation with a local.

There was a beautiful sunset. I watched England 0 v Ghana 0 on my smartphone as our TV is not compatible with German terrestrial TV broadcasts. 

When it got dark, to my amazement, the "shrine" lit up!!
