Sunny this morning in Edale. Ann took this picture through the skylight of our van while she was lying in bed! We left Edale and headed east then north west over The Snake Pass to Glossop where we bought groceries at Tesco.

After leaving Glossop we headed north east up towards the Holme Moss TV transmitter.

By the mast we crossed from Derbyshire into West Yorkshire.

I seem to remember that when the Tour de France cycle race came to Britain one of the stages was Cote de Holme Moss.

We parked for a while a little way down from the pass on the Yorkshire side where there is a truly stunning view.

This would be parapentist spent a long time saying his prayers before attempting to take to the air.

He made numerous attempts to get air born but just couldn't manage it. On one occasion he was pulled along the ground by the chute and almost hit a large boulder! I can see why he felt the need to pray before trying to fly!

We moved on to The Huntsman Inn at Holmfirth and parked in the overflow car park.

The pub is a Brit stops host. This scheme allows campervanners and motor homers to park for free for up to 24 hours.

Here's the view from our sliding door.

We went to the pub for a meal.

Ann had pate and doughnuts. I had prawns and avocado followed by sea bass - very nice but rather a lot. We're full up now! I asked at the bar whether we could use their outside tap to fill our fresh water tank and they said that would be fine!

Today we travelled 39 miles (63 kilometres). We are at: N53.5703 W1.8409    Huntsmans Inn   Street View
