Long journey north today. Stopped off at this M6 service area from a cup of tea and a cake from the M&S shop.

We arrived at Edale in the Peak District and parked in a disabled parking bay at the High Peak Borough Council car park.

We displayed our disabled parking badge and paid £7.90 for 24 hours parking. I subsequently went and had another look at the car park notice board and found out blue badge holders can park for free!

Edale is set in a beautiful valley surrounded on all sides by high Pennine Hills.

Here's a view from the playing field.

Just over the road is a cafe and the railway station.

A little way up the hill there's a pub.

A nice afternoon for sitting outside.

We stayed in the van this afternoon. I cooked some chicken with potatoes , sprouts and gravy for our tea.

Today we travelled 141 miles (227 kilometres). We are at: N53.3645 W1.8154

Just over the hill from our son Joel. Up Jacob's Ladder and down past Kinder Downfall, and you'd almost be there!
