From Cervera we travelled west to Guardo where we took on water, then north to Riano.

We travelled through sensational mountain scenery.

This area is known as the Serra del Alba.

There is a lot of exposed limestone around here. Trees can only grow where there is some soil.

The valley floors are wooded but interspersed with meadows - very attractive.

There is a profusion of wild flowers in the mountains round here at this time of year.

There are lots of reservoirs in this area.

When we got to Riano we stopped for the day at the Aire. I did a minor grocery shop in a small local supermarket and Ann went for a short ride on her mobility scooter. There was plenty of room at the Aire when we arrived about midday.

Towards evening the Aire became ridiculously overcrowded. This can happen in any vehicle park which doesn't have marked parking places and can lead to vehicles being blocked in and disputes between people over who should move where or whatever!

Today we travelled 48 miles (77 kilometres). We are at: N42.9750 W5.0043
